You can hate the Kony campaign all you want but when my friend came into class today and saw “27 of your friends posted about Joseph Kony” on facebook he broke down into tears. 

He immigrated from Uganda to Canada in 2006, only two years after his sister was taken and then shot in front of him.

So complain about fraudulent spending all you want, because today I saw first hand that it’s making a difference.

Great article. People should develop there own opinions on Invisible Children, it’s good to question. I support them, you may not, but in the end we are all the more informed on an injustice that has taken place and the people we can help. My Facebook rant: I think the people who are calling it a scam are perhaps a little bit smarter then the people all of a sudden jumping up for action. Atleast these people have gone out and done their own research and come to their own conclusions. I don’t personally agree with ther views. I think it’s reasonable to question IC only sending 30% of their profits to Uganda but having said that the 70% gone into making this movie I think was money well spent, the response is proof of that. I think that IC now have the responsibilty to educate these new recruits (and “recruits” to take it upon themselves) more on the issue before they go running about town posting things everywhere. Kony is in hiding, the un does know about him, there are people looking for him, the us has passed a bill to disarm him. More education needs to happen before action. Educate yourself before you try to educate others. Or choose to remain an ignorant douche like my cousin right here.
